GROHE Appoints Stefan Schmied as New Leader of IMEA Region

GROHE, a subsidiary of LIXIL and one of the world's leading providers of complete bathroom and kitchen fittings, has announced the appointment of Stefan Schmied as the new leader of the IMEA region, which includes India and the subcontinent, the Middle East including Turkey, and Africa.

In his new role, Schmied will be tasked with accelerating growth and strengthening the long-term commercial performance of the GROHE brand through interregional collaboration and strategic innovation, according to a statement from GROHE.

"He will also focus on expanding the customer base, developing partnerships, and driving innovation to contribute to GROHE's overall success while overseeing business operations in the IMEA region," the same source continues.

Schmied brings more than 20 years of industry expertise to his role. He has led major strategic initiatives, developed distribution networks, consolidated brands, and supervised commercial operations across retail, wholesale, and project sectors for multinational corporations.

Previously, Schmied led the commercial projects division at GROHE, transforming it into an autonomous entity that became a crucial growth driver for LIXIL EMENA. He oversaw the specification and execution of construction and renovation projects, especially for leading hotel brands, iconic airports, international healthcare groups, and top residential developers worldwide.

Before joining GROHE, a LIXIL subsidiary, Schmied held CEO and president positions at major construction companies in Europe and Asia. His professional journey has provided him with extensive expertise in the sanitary, tiling, and sanitary technology sectors, collaborating with multinationals in the Middle East and holding senior executive roles.
