Gitex Global 2025 highlights cyber resilience and global tech collaboration

On its fourth day, GITEX GLOBAL 2025 reaffirmed Dubai’s position as a hub for technological innovation and international dialogue. Policymakers, cybersecurity experts, and tech innovators gathered to address the pressing challenge of the AI era: securing a data-driven, intelligent world.

Discussions centered on building resilience and trust, emphasizing the need for agile governance and ethical frameworks to accompany rapid digital transformation.

The 45th edition of GITEX GLOBAL, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, hosted more than 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and delegations from over 180 countries.

Cyber resilience at the forefront

UAE Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Omar Sultan Al Olama underscored GITEX’s role in advancing the UAE’s digital vision. He called for “agile policymaking” and “well-informed regulation” to mitigate AI-related risks.

Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, presented the UAE Cybersecurity Vision 2025 report, detailing an integrated framework focused on governance, AI threat detection, and citizen awareness. “Our people will always be our first line of defense,” he noted, emphasizing a collaborative and resilient cyber culture.

Neal Jetton, Director of Cybercrime at INTERPOL, warned of a surge in AI-driven cybercrime, highlighting the need for international cooperation between governments and private sectors.

From the private sector, Taavi Madiberk, CEO of Skeleton Technologies, highlighted cost-effective AI deployment, while Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs, Liisa-Ly Pakosta, stressed that cross-border collaboration is essential to counter cyber threats.

Innovation meets cybersecurity

Exhibitors showcased security-integrated technologies. Huawei presented its “All Intelligence” ecosystem and launched the ICT Skills Development Insights Report 2025 with UNESCO IITE, emphasizing digital education. OPSWAT introduced its MetaDefender Optical Diode and advanced kiosks, while Fortinet and CrowdStrike highlighted AI-powered defenses reducing vulnerabilities across digital infrastructures.

Moving toward Expo City

Dubai Municipality signed a memorandum with Fortinet International to enhance AI-driven cybersecurity in public systems, accelerating digital transformation.

As GITEX GLOBAL 2025 concludes, the event solidifies its role as a central platform where technology, trust, and human ingenuity converge to shape the intelligent economy. The 46th edition is scheduled at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, from December 7-11, 2026, promising another milestone in global innovation.
