Local Republican leaders, such as Sammy Baker, chairman of the Gwinnett County Republican Party, acknowledge that Harris's nomination has energized some previously disengaged Democrats. Baker emphasizes the importance of Trump staying focused on key issues like border security, the economy, inflation, and housing to secure victory in the state.
