French court to decide on Nicolas Sarkozy’s release
The Paris Court of Appeal is set to rule on Monday regarding the release request of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been held at the Santé prison since October 21.
Sarkozy, sentenced on September 25 to five years in prison for his alleged involvement in the Libyan financing of his 2007 campaign, attended the hearing via videoconference. The public prosecutor has expressed support for his release under strict judicial supervision. The final decision is expected at 1:30 p.m., according to the appeals chamber.
