French AI Minister to attend GITEX Africa 2026 in Morocco
France’s Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, Anne Le Hénanff, is visiting Morocco to take part in GITEX Africa 2026, a major technology gathering on the African continent.
According to official sources, the visit aims to highlight the strength of the French tech ecosystem in Morocco and to reinforce digital cooperation between the two countries. The event is expected to bring together key players in innovation, technology, and policymaking to discuss the challenges of digital transformation.
During the event, the French minister will participate in the opening ceremony, as well as in high-level discussions focused on artificial intelligence, including a panel on digital sovereignty and another session addressing the role of AI in cybersecurity.
Beyond public appearances, the visit will also include meetings with representatives of the French digital business community to explore investment opportunities and future collaborations with Moroccan partners. These exchanges reflect a broader effort to strengthen strategic ties in the fields of technology and innovation.
For its fourth edition, GITEX Africa will take place from April 7 to 9 in Marrakech, with artificial intelligence as the central theme. The event is expected to host delegations from over 100 countries, nearly 1,000 startups, and a significant number of international investors.
The participation of the French minister underscores France’s intention to play an active role in Africa’s growing tech landscape while deepening its digital partnership with Morocco.
