French actress Dominique Frot dies at 68 in Paris

French actress Dominique Frot, known for her work across theatre, television and film, has died at the age of 68 in Paris, according to her family and agent.

Frot died on August 7 at Tenon Hospital following an illness, her agent Jean-François Gabard confirmed to Agence France-Presse on Sunday. Her death was also announced by her sister, actress Catherine Frot, and their brother Jacques through Dominique Frot’s Instagram account.

A career spanning theatre, television and film

Born on August 23, 1957, in Rochefort, in France’s Charente-Maritime department, Dominique Frot built a career across several areas of the performing arts.

She appeared regularly on stage and took on a range of supporting roles in theatre productions, television series and feature films. Her television work included appearances in the French comedy series “Soda”, while her film career featured roles in a number of feature-length productions.

Although she was often cast in supporting parts, Frot established a distinctive presence across different formats, moving between stage performances and screen work throughout her career.

Sister of actress Catherine Frot

Dominique Frot was the younger sister of Catherine Frot, one of France’s best-known actresses.

The family confirmed Dominique’s death in a message shared on her Instagram account, expressing their grief over her passing.
