Fitch reaffirms BMCE Capital Gestion’s excellence in investment management

BMCE Capital Gestion has maintained its position among Morocco’s leading asset management companies after Fitch Ratings reaffirmed its national Investment Management Quality Rating (IMQR) at “Excellent (mar)” with a stable outlook. The decision reflects the company’s strong operational framework, disciplined investment process, and continued commitment to high standards of governance and risk management.

According to the latest assessment, the rating follows Fitch’s periodic review of the company’s investment activities and organizational structure. The agency highlighted the stability of BMCE Capital Gestion’s operations, supported by a structured investment decision-making process, advanced operational systems, and comprehensive risk management practices. The company's integration within the Bank of Africa Group was also recognized as an important factor supporting its institutional strength.

The evaluation awarded the company its highest ratings in several key areas, including investment processes, investment resources, risk management, client servicing, and organizational effectiveness. Its investment performance was also positively assessed, reflecting the firm's ability to deliver consistent portfolio management while adapting to changing market conditions.

BMCE Capital Gestion is one of Morocco’s major asset management firms, specializing in the management of collective investment schemes and a broad range of investment funds, including money market, bond, equity, diversified, and contractual funds. Operating under the supervision of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, the company serves institutional investors, corporations, and individual clients with diversified investment solutions.

The company also emphasizes internationally recognized quality standards. It operates under the ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, holds Bureau Veritas certification, and complies with the ISAE 3402 Type II standard, demonstrating its commitment to operational excellence, transparency, and internal controls.

Fitch’s decision to maintain the “Excellent (mar)” rating reinforces international confidence in BMCE Capital Gestion’s investment capabilities at a time when Morocco’s asset management industry is becoming increasingly competitive. The reaffirmed rating highlights the company's resilience, strong governance framework, and ability to meet the evolving expectations of investors in both domestic and international financial markets.
