FIFA opens last-minute World Cup 2026 ticket sales on April 1

FIFA has announced the opening of the fourth and final ticket sales phase for the 2026 World Cup on April 1, with seats made available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis.

The final sales window will remain open through the end of the tournament, scheduled for June and July across three host countries in an expanded 48-team format. FIFA confirmed the details in an official statement.

Following what the governing body described as unprecedented demand, with more than 500 million requests recorded during the random selection phase for over one million tickets allocated in late February, new tickets will be progressively released on the official platform, including potentially on match days depending on availability.

Buyers will be able to select seats directly through stadium seating maps or opt for automatic assignment of the best available places. Holders of previously purchased tickets will be able to view their assigned seats from April 1.

FIFA also specified that its official platform will remain the sole authorised sales channel, with the secure resale system for eligible ticket holders reopening on April 2 to limit fraud. Premium hospitality packages that include tickets remain available through official partner On Location.

With fewer than 80 days until kick-off, FIFA is anticipating an attendance record that could surpass the 3.5 million spectators registered at the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

FIFA reminded supporters that holding a ticket does not guarantee entry into the host countries, and urged fans to begin visa procedures in advance, particularly for the United States, where a dedicated priority slot system called FIFA PASS has been established.
