Explosion at Orange facility in Paris leaves three injured, Two in serious condition
An explosion occurred on Thursday morning, October 9, at an Orange technical facility in Paris, injuring three technicians, two of them seriously, according to police sources. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. on Avenue de Saxe, in the city’s 7th arrondissement, while workers were performing welding operations.
The fire broke out following an accidental explosion, reportedly triggered by an air-conditioning unit, according to firefighters who were called to the scene amid concerns about a potential gas leak. The French telecommunications company Orange confirmed to AFP that a “major accident” had occurred at one of its technical sites in Paris but declined to provide further details.
Emergency services quickly intervened, and the injured workers were taken to hospital for treatment. Two of them sustained severe burns. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
