Elon Musk urges Trump to release Epstein files as promised
Elon Musk has called on former US President Donald Trump to fulfill his promise of releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, renewing his criticism in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Seriously. He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised,” Musk wrote in response to a post, reigniting public debate on the controversial case.
The Epstein saga, often a focal point for conspiracy theories, has stirred renewed division. Last week, a memo from Trump’s Department of Justice and the FBI stated that no evidence existed of a “client list” or blackmail operations tied to the disgraced financier. The report also confirmed Epstein’s death in 2019 as a suicide in a New York prison and ruled out any further releases of information related to the case.
This decision has faced sharp criticism from some far-right figures, including long-time Trump supporters who have expressed frustration with Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. Trump defended Bondi on Truth Social, urging his MAGA base to stop attacking his administration over the matter.
Trump has denied any connection to Epstein beyond appearing in a decades-old video at a party. However, Musk previously alleged that Trump’s name appeared in the files, a claim he later retracted and deleted from X.
The controversy surrounding Epstein’s death and alleged connections to powerful figures continues to fuel debates, with Musk’s comments adding another layer of scrutiny to Trump’s handling of the case.
