Eco-construction focus: Nouaceur innovation lab launches design day for sustainable building
The Nouaceur Territorial Innovation Lab (NOTIL) is set to host its inaugural Design Day, a landmark event aimed at advancing Morocco's sustainable building practices through collaborative dialogue and skills development. The event will take place on Friday at the "Cité des Métiers et des Compétences de Casablanca-Settat" in Nouaceur.
Bringing together a diverse group of experts, engineers, craftsmen, trainers, and public decision-makers, the initiative seeks to address the growing demand for eco-construction training programs. Through thematic workshops, participants will identify and prioritize critical skills necessary to accelerate the transition toward sustainable construction, focusing on areas such as energy efficiency, waste management, and low-tech innovation.
The event also aims to promote the use of local materials, reduce carbon footprints, and create job opportunities, particularly in rural regions. According to NOTIL Co-Coordinator Nour-Hane El Badmoussi, eco-construction is a crucial tool for enhancing both climate resilience and social cohesion.
Design Day will further develop recommendations to align training programs with industry realities, ensuring a competent and sustainable ecosystem. Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Co-Coordinator Houda Alaoui emphasized that the event will serve as a foundation for establishing a shared competency framework to meet Morocco’s environmental and socio-economic challenges.
