Deadly bus crash in Angola claims 22 lives
At least 22 people lost their lives and 24 others were injured in a tragic bus accident in Angola on Saturday. The incident took place in Munenga municipality, Cuanza Sul province, when a bus carrying 56 passengers reportedly experienced brake failure, causing it to overturn.
Angolan President João Lourenço expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and stated that authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. “With over two dozen lives lost, I honor the memory of those who died,” Lourenço said, while also wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
Emergency services were deployed immediately to the scene to assist the injured and transport them to nearby medical facilities. The government has pledged to examine road safety measures and prevent similar accidents in the future.
