A hacker group known as Dark Storm Team has asserted its involvement in a recent Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack targeting the X platform (formerly Twitter). This announcement was made via a Telegram post shortly after Elon Musk confirmed that a significant cyber assault was underway.

On Monday, users around the world experienced widespread outages on the X platform, disrupting access for most of the day. In response to the situation, Musk took to his account, stating, “There is (and there was) a massive cyberattack against X. We are attacked daily, but this time considerable resources have been deployed. It is either a large coordinated group or a country involved. We are investigating.”

Shortly after Musk's statement, Dark Storm Team published a message on Telegram claiming responsibility for the attack. According to Newsweek, the group shared a screenshot displaying a real-time status page highlighting failed login attempts from various locations worldwide.

The attack in question is characterized as a DDoS, a strategy involving overwhelming a server with requests to render it inaccessible. At this stage, the true identities and motivations of those behind Dark Storm Team remain unclear. However, this incident underscores the ongoing vulnerability of major platforms to cyber threats.

Both X and relevant authorities are continuing their investigations to identify the culprits and enhance the platform's security.
