Crypto trader turns $3,000 into $2 million after viral memecoin surge

A cryptocurrency trader has achieved an astonishing profit after transforming a $3,000 investment into roughly $2 million within hours, following a surge in a newly launched memecoin that went viral after a tweet from Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao.

The token, known simply as “4,” emerged after a humorous hack of the official BNB Chain account inspired its creation. CZ’s playful comment on the incident triggered widespread excitement among crypto traders, sparking a rapid buying wave that sent the coin’s value soaring.

According to blockchain data, the trader identified by the wallet address 0x872 used $3,060 worth of Binance Coin (BNB) to purchase 16.86 million $4 tokens. When the token’s value spiked, the trader sold 5.12 million tokens for about $118,700 while retaining 11.75 million more, now estimated to be worth around $1.88 million. The total gain from the transaction is close to $2 million.

This rapid windfall underscores both the potential and the unpredictability of the cryptocurrency market, where sharp price movements can create instant fortunes or sudden losses. Analysts note that the influence of social media and public figures like CZ can significantly sway investor sentiment, often amplifying market volatility.

The dramatic rise of the $4 token reflects how quickly trends can develop in the digital asset space, highlighting the role of timing, speculation, and viral momentum in driving short-term gains. It also serves as a reminder of the high risks that come with chasing hype-driven investments.

As the crypto ecosystem continues to evolve, such episodes capture the dual nature of digital trading, offering opportunities for staggering profits while demanding caution and resilience from participants navigating an unpredictable market.
