Chinese manufacturer Boway to establish $150 million production base in Morocco
Chinese alloy manufacturer Boway has unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art production facility in Nador, Morocco, marking a major step in the company’s global expansion strategy.
Headquartered in Zhejiang, China, Boway specializes in producing alloy materials such as copper, brass, bronze, and high-performance copper alloys, widely used in electronics, automotive, and industrial sectors. With existing operations in China, Germany, Canada, and Vietnam, the new Moroccan facility represents a strategic move to strengthen its presence beyond Asian and European markets.
$150 million investment in Nador
The company announced an investment of $150 million (MAD 1.5 billion) for the Nador production base, which will cover 188,000 square meters and produce 30,000 tons of alloy materials annually. Managed by Boway’s Moroccan subsidiary, Boway Alloys New Materials (Morocco), the plant is expected to enhance delivery efficiency for American and European markets while bolstering global supply chains.
Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and is projected for completion in 2029.
Morocco’s strategic appeal
Boway’s decision to establish the plant in Morocco reflects the country’s growing attractiveness as a hub for industrial and technological investments. A previous plan for a similar project in Vietnam was shelved in favor of Morocco, highlighting its strategic location and favorable business environment for global firms.
This investment further cements Morocco’s reputation as a leader in Africa’s burgeoning high-tech and digital industries, positioning the nation as a key player in global manufacturing and supply chain networks.
