Chinese companies are increasingly resorting to discreet workforce reductions as artificial intelligence tools rapidly transform business operations, according to industry reports and employee accounts. Rather than announcing large-scale layoffs, many firms are opting for gradual job cuts and reduced hiring in order to avoid public attention and maintain social stability.

In several sectors, including technology, advertising, and entertainment, employees report that AI systems are already handling tasks that previously required human workers.
