Child dies in collision between van and tram in Manchester
A three-year-old girl tragically lost her life after a crash involving a van and a tram in Manchester city center, police confirmed. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) reported that the girl, who was a pedestrian, was rushed to the hospital following the incident but succumbed to her injuries. Authorities clarified that the child was not in either the tram or the van at the time of the collision. No arrests have been made, and investigations are still ongoing. In the aftermath of the crash on Mosley Street, near the Manchester Art Gallery, roads have been closed, and public transportation services have been halted. Commuters have been warned about significant disruptions, including "a lengthy closure of surrounding streets near St Peter's Square."
