Casablanca police deny rumor about disappearance of two children

Authorities in Casablanca have issued a clarification after a video circulating on social media claimed that two children had recently disappeared in the city. Police officials stressed that the incident mentioned in the video is not new and does not involve any criminal activity.

According to the Casablanca police prefecture, the video shows a woman calling on authorities to review surveillance camera footage to locate two allegedly missing children. The footage was widely shared across several platforms, leading some users to speculate that the situation might be linked to a possible crime.

Security officials explained that the case actually dates back to 2025 and involved a temporary disappearance of two siblings aged 14 and 15. At the time, investigators determined that the teenagers had voluntarily left their family home.

The police investigation eventually led authorities to the city of Berrechid, where the two adolescents were found in a public garden. Officials confirmed that neither of them had been harmed and that no form of assault or criminal act had taken place.

Following the reappearance of the case online, Casablanca’s police prefecture released a statement to clarify the facts and prevent the spread of misleading information.

Authorities also urged social media users to exercise caution when sharing unverified content, warning that such posts can create unnecessary concern among the public and contribute to the spread of misinformation.
