Casablanca: Mother and Partner arrested for violent abuse of 5-year-old daughter
Casablanca authorities have arrested a mother and her partner following allegations of violent abuse against her five-year-old daughter.
The Casablanca National Police quickly responded after a video circulated on social media showing the child with visible burn marks and bruises. In the video, a voice claimed that the mother was responsible for the violence.
Investigations led by the competent prosecutor’s office identified the mother as the main suspect, along with a 33-year-old man with whom she had an extramarital relationship. Both individuals, aged 28 and 33, were apprehended in the Oulfa district of Casablanca. They are suspected of violently assaulting the child.
The judicial police implemented the child protection protocol immediately. The unit responsible for handling minor victims of violence ensured the child was transferred to a hospital for medical care and received appropriate psychological and social support.
The suspects have been placed in custody as the investigation continues to clarify the circumstances and motives behind this criminal act.
