Brazil reaches historic record with 7 Million tourists

Brazil is celebrating a tourism milestone, welcoming 7 million international visitors between January and September 2025 — a 45% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Embratur, Brazil’s tourism promotion agency.

With its iconic beaches, festive atmosphere, and year-round tropical climate, Brazil continues to attract travelers from around the globe.
“We are experiencing a historic moment for Brazilian tourism,” said Tourism Minister Celso Sabino. “We have already surpassed our annual target three months ahead of schedule, proving the strength of our sector and the confidence the world places in Brazil.”

France remains one of the top European markets, with over 212,000 French tourists, alongside Portugal and Germany.
Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur, emphasized that this record “translates into real benefits for Brazilians: it creates jobs, income, and opportunities in every region.”

The country is also preparing to host the COP 30 Climate Conference in Belém on November 10, 2025, a major global event that will further spotlight Brazil’s environmental commitments and sustainable tourism potential.
