Botola Pro D2: opening-day results, Sunday fixtures and early standings

The opening round of the Botola Pro D2 « Inwi » got underway on Saturday with four matches producing an early picture of the competition, while four more fixtures are scheduled for Sunday.

Olympique Dcheira, Union Yaacoub El Mansour and Widad Fès all began their campaigns with victories, while US Bejaâd and Olympic Safi shared the points after a goalless draw.

Widad Fès claim narrow win in Kénitra

Widad Fès made a winning start away from home, edging KAC Kénitra 1-0 on Saturday.

The result gives Widad Fès three points from their opening match, while KAC Kénitra begin the season without a point.

The encounter was one of four matches played on the opening Saturday of the second-tier campaign.

Three points for Olympique Dcheira and Union Yaacoub El Mansour

Olympique Dcheira also opened their account with a 1-0 victory, overcoming Olympique Khouribga.

The result places Olympique Dcheira among the early leaders after the first round of completed fixtures.

Union Yaacoub El Mansour produced one of the clearest results of the day, defeating Chabab Mohammedia 2-0 to take three points.

With the two sides having completed their first match, Union Yaacoub El Mansour also sit at the top end of the provisional standings.

US Bejaâd and Olympic Safi share points

The only draw on Saturday came between US Bejaâd and Olympic Safi, with neither side able to break the deadlock in a 0-0 result.

Both teams therefore leave the opening fixture with one point.

Four matches scheduled for Sunday

The first round continues on Sunday with four matches, all of which will have an impact on the early standings.

Jeunesse Massira will face Stade Marocain at 4 p.m., while USM Oujda will meet Mouloudia Oujda at the same time.

Also at 4 p.m., Jeunesse Ben Guerir will take on JS Soualem.

The day's final match is scheduled for 6 p.m., when Chabab Atlas Khénifra will host Ittihad Khemisset.

These eight teams have yet to play their opening fixtures, meaning the provisional table is set to change significantly once Sunday's matches are completed.

After Saturday's results, Olympique Dcheira, Union Yaacoub El Mansour and Widad Fès each have three points from one match.

US Bejaâd and Olympic Safi follow with one point apiece.
