Barcelona complete second summer signing with Karim Adeyemi deal

Spanish champions Barcelona have officially completed the signing of German winger Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, with the 24-year-old agreeing to a contract that will keep him at the Catalan club until 2031.

Barcelona confirmed the transfer in an official statement, announcing that an agreement had been reached with Dortmund for Adeyemi's move to the Spanish side. The two clubs did not disclose the financial details of the deal, although media reports have put the transfer fee at around €22 million, excluding potential bonuses.

Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022 after making his name at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. During his time in Germany, he made 146 appearances across all competitions and scored 36 goals.

The move will also see Adeyemi reunite with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick. The German manager previously worked with the forward and played a role in his first appearances for the senior Germany national team.

Known for his exceptional pace, Adeyemi has established himself as one of the fastest players in German football. He reportedly reached a top speed of 36.65 kilometers per hour during Dortmund's 5-1 victory over Freiburg in the 2022-2023 Bundesliga season.

Barcelona see the German winger as another attacking option as the club prepares for the new campaign. His arrival represents the Catalan side's second attacking signing of the current transfer window, following the reported arrival of English forward Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

Adeyemi's versatility and speed are expected to add further depth to Barcelona's attacking options as the club looks to strengthen its squad and compete on multiple fronts in the upcoming season.
