Auto Nejma Launches BYD SEAL in Morocco

Auto Nejma launched the fifth model in the BYD range in Morocco - the BYD SEAL - into the Moroccan automotive market.

"The BYD SEAL, in addition to its unmatched sportiness and performance, offers cutting-edge technology and safety for an optimal driving experience," a statement said, adding that this launch offers a new era of sustainable and innovative mobility in Morocco.

The BYD sedan is built on the e-Platform 3.0 used by other models of the brand. However, it is the first BYD model to use the Cell-to-Body technology, integrating the battery into the vehicle's structure to improve safety. With 390 kW / 530 hp, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, it was stated.

The battery used is BYD’s Blade Battery, a cobalt-free LFP battery known for its high energy density and reliability. The BYD SEAL’s battery has a capacity of 82.5 kWh, with a range of 520 to 570 km in the WLTP mixed cycle.

The BYD SEAL can be recharged in just 26 minutes with a capacity of 150 kW DC (from 30% to 80%). The 11 kW AC charging capacity makes home charging more practical and easier in 4 hours 31 minutes.

According to BYD’s General Manager for Africa and the Middle East, AD Huang, cited in the statement, this electric car, with extended range and modern features, offers a practical mobility solution suitable for urban and suburban travel.

After the BYD Atto 3, Han and Tang, the BYD SEAL is the fourth passenger vehicle model to join the Moroccan range since its arrival in the kingdom and its alliance with the distributor Auto Nejma in July 2023.

Founded in 1995 and specializing in rechargeable batteries, BYD is a sustainable mobility industry player with divisions in energy storage and production, rail transportation, commercial and heavy vehicles and electric passenger vehicles as well as electronics.
