Atos and aba technology partner to deploy sovereign ai across Africa

ABA Technology and Atos have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the deployment of a sovereign artificial intelligence platform across Africa, marking a step toward scaling locally developed AI systems in regulated and complex environments.

The agreement, signed during GITEX Africa in Marrakech, establishes a framework for integrating ABA Technology’s Fusion AI platform into client environments managed by Atos. The collaboration targets institutional clients, private companies, public sector entities, and scientific research centers across the continent.

Under the deal, Atos will act as an integrator of Fusion AI, supporting organizations in moving from experimental AI use cases to full-scale operational deployment. The platform enables centralized control over data, systems, and operations while operating under strict governance, security, and audit requirements.

The partnership combines ABA Technology’s sovereign AI infrastructure with Atos’ capabilities in system integration, cloud services, cybersecurity, and complex program management. Both companies aim to deliver AI systems capable of automating workflows while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

The agreement also opens the door to joint innovation initiatives in key sectors such as industry, healthcare, life sciences, energy, mining, and public services. The focus will be on developing sector-specific AI solutions tailored to operational needs in each field.

Fusion AI stands out as a platform fully designed, developed, and operated in Africa, without reliance on foreign cloud infrastructure. It integrates data processing, system orchestration, and governance into a single architecture. The platform has already been deployed in industrial contexts, including mining optimization, energy digital twins, clinical AI applications, and territorial intelligence systems.

Atos cited the platform’s ability to meet strict sovereignty, security, and compliance requirements as a key factor in the partnership. These criteria remain critical for public institutions and industrial clients operating in sensitive environments.

For ABA Technology, the agreement represents an opportunity to expand Fusion AI at scale across Africa. The company positions the platform as an operating system for enterprise intelligence, designed to unify fragmented IT, operational technology, and IoT systems into a single governed framework.

The partnership reflects growing demand for sovereign AI solutions developed within Africa, as governments and enterprises seek greater control over data and digital infrastructure.
