Asbestos-contaminated toys: Stretch Monster figures pulled from King Jouet stores
Parents are being warned after certain toys sold at King Jouet were found to contain asbestos. The French authorities recommend immediately stopping the use of these items and returning them to the store for a full refund.
The recalled toys are “Stretch Monsters” figures from the brand Invinsible Heroes, sold in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland between November 23, 2023, and February 19, 2026. Several product references are affected, including King Jouet codes 962402, 989731, 989732, and 931952, and supplier codes 1433029, 1535491, 1535492, and 1376624.
According to the government’s official recall notice, the toy filling may contain asbestos, posing a chemical risk. The primary danger comes from inhaling particles released if the product is damaged, which can be particularly hazardous for children.
Authorities urge parents to return the toys immediately in a sealed transparent bag. King Jouet confirmed that refunds will be provided for all affected products. This recall follows growing concerns over creative kits and children’s toys potentially contaminated with hazardous substances, reinforcing the need for parental vigilance.
