AREP Fès-Meknès: Over 800 million dirhams invested in 126 projects between 2021 and 2024
The Regional Project Execution Agency (AREP) of Fès-Meknès has announced the completion of 126 projects between 2021 and 2024, with a total investment of 819.4 million dirhams (DH). These initiatives fall under the programs for reducing territorial and social disparities as well as broader regional development efforts, with an execution rate exceeding 89%, according to the agency’s report presented during its September session.
During the meeting, members of the regional oversight and monitoring committee reviewed several key governance and management issues, including the audit reports for 2022 and 2023, the 2024 financial statements, the annual activity report, and the proposed 2026 budget.
The discussions also addressed AREP’s financial situation for 2025, payment delays, tender management, and the rollout of a new information and communication system as well as the agency’s upcoming institutional website. Both the 2024 financial statements and the annual activity report were validated, while the 2026 draft budget received approval.
The agency emphasized the importance of reinforcing project monitoring and implementation. The meeting also reviewed the results of the 2020–2022 Regional Development Program, which reached a 72% completion rate, alongside updates on the 2022–2027 programs and various initiatives across multiple sectors such as industry, trade, housing, urban planning, agriculture, tourism, sports, crafts, social and solidarity economy, youth, social cooperation, and environment.
