Amrabat Shines as Morocco Secures Convincing Victory in AFCON Opener
In their inaugural match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat showcased an outstanding performance, contributing significantly to Morocco's commanding 3-0 triumph over Tanzania.
Exhibiting his trademark midfield prowess, Amrabat played a pivotal role in dictating the tempo of the game and fortifying Morocco's defense. The Atlas Lions maintained dominance throughout the Group F clash on Tuesday.
Amrabat's influence was particularly evident in the creation of Morocco's third goal. In the 80th minute, he embarked on a marauding run and executed a precise clearance, setting up Achraf Hakimi's assist for Youssef En-Nesyri.

Morocco seized the lead in the 30th minute when defender Romain Saiss capitalized on a rebound from Hakim Ziyech’s free kick. Azzedine Ounahi then doubled the advantage on the 77th minute with a clinical finish following a seamless one-two with Amine Adli.
En-Nesyri's late goal capped off a dominant performance by the tournament favorites, placing them atop Group F. They are set to face DR Congo and Zambia in the upcoming clashes.
