Algerian military aircraft crashes during training maneuver, pilot perishes
In a tragic incident today, an Algerian military aircraft crashed while conducting a training maneuver near the Aoulef region in Adrar province. The Algerian Defense Ministry confirmed that Lieutenant Colonel Bekkouche Nasr lost his life in the crash, which has since been captured in a viral video circulating online.
The ministry stated that the aircraft, a Sukhoi Su-30, went down during a scheduled training flight. Army Chief of Staff Said Chengriha extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased pilot, echoing sentiments from all personnel within Algeria's military forces.
Fortunately, reports indicate that a second crew member was able to escape the accident unharmed. This incident marks the second crash of a Sukhoi Su-30 in Algeria, following a similar accident in Oum El Bouaghi province in 2020.
