Al Barid Bank denies data breach and reassures customers over account security
Al Barid Bank has denied any compromise of customer accounts following reports circulating online and on social media about a possible data leak.
In an official statement, the bank said that initial technical investigations conducted by its cybersecurity teams found no evidence of sensitive data being breached. It emphasized that the information mentioned in recent reports does not contain critical elements and cannot be used to access customer accounts or carry out banking transactions.
The institution reassured clients that both accounts and payment systems remain fully secure. It added that all security protocols are actively in place to protect customer data and prevent unauthorized access.
At the same time, further internal checks are ongoing to determine the origin and nature of the data referenced in the reports. The bank stated that it is mobilizing all available resources to fully clarify the situation.
Al Barid Bank also reiterated that the protection of customer information and financial transactions remains its highest priority, particularly in a context of increasing global concerns over cybersecurity risks and digital fraud attempts targeting financial institutions.
