Akdital's ambitious healthcare expansion in Morocco

Groupe Akdital is set to revolutionize healthcare access in Morocco by opening new medical facilities and diagnostic centers aimed at underserved rural communities by 2030.

In the past year, Akdital has launched 12 new healthcare facilities, nearly tripling its total number of establishments across the country. Currently, the group operates in Khouribga, Marrakech, Essaouira, Tetouan, Errachidia, Taroudant, Dakhla, Kenitra, Benguerir, and Meknes, boasting over 3,500 doctors and 3,700 hospital beds. Last year alone, Akdital admitted more than 670,000 patients and achieved an impressive 96.7% satisfaction rate.

A recent study by the United States National Institute of Health highlights the significant healthcare access disparities between urban and rural populations in Morocco, particularly in terms of equipment, infrastructure, and specialist care. Addressing these challenges is crucial for improving healthcare outcomes.

Following the release of its 2024 annual results, Akdital outlined an ambitious plan for 2025-2030, focusing on enhancing healthcare quality and accessibility, especially in less urbanized areas. The company's overarching goal is to solidify its status as a benchmark for quality healthcare across Morocco while expanding its international influence.

By 2027, Akdital aims to operate 62 healthcare establishments and increase its bed capacity to over 6,000 across 32 cities. Each hospital will be paired with 4 to 5 diagnostic centers located within 100 kilometers, addressing the critical need for timely diagnoses and treatments in rural areas.

To support its expansion, Akdital is embracing technological innovations, such as digitizing medical records and implementing advanced surgical robotics. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

Additionally, Akdital is committed to reducing its environmental impact by minimizing energy consumption and improving medical waste management. Through the Akdital Foundation, the group also aims to provide healthcare access to vulnerable populations while supporting local socio-economic initiatives.

The launch of the Akdital Academy will further strengthen its workforce by offering professional development programs in both paramedical and administrative fields. Enhanced human resources services and new employee incentives are also part of the plan to boost productivity.

Looking ahead, Akdital plans to extend its reach beyond Morocco into the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia between 2025 and 2030, with plans for multiple establishments in key cities. This international expansion marks a significant step for Akdital as it seeks to bring its innovative healthcare model to new markets.

As Akdital continues its ambitious expansion strategy, its investments in infrastructure, personnel training, and digital solutions position it as a competitive player in both regional and international healthcare markets.
