Agadir: Football coach arrested over child abuse case
Authorities in Agadir have arrested a football coach suspected of attempting to lure a minor player from his team into a secluded area, in a case that has sparked outrage and concern over child protection in sports.
According to initial reports, the case came to light after the father of a 14-year-old boy noticed a sudden change in his son’s behavior. Upon checking his phone, he discovered WhatsApp conversations with the coach containing inappropriate messages and sexual images.
The father immediately filed a complaint with the Royal Gendarmerie in Drarga, providing screenshots as evidence. Acting on the prosecutor’s orders, investigators launched a discreet surveillance operation to track the suspect’s movements.
Later that evening, the police set up a carefully planned trap that led to the coach’s arrest while attempting to meet the minor. He was taken into custody and placed under judicial investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate to determine whether other potential victims may be involved in the case.
