DGSN announces new appointments to strengthen security in Moroccan cities
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) recently announced a series of appointments to key positions in various Moroccan cities, including Casablanca, Oujda, Laâyoune, Salé, Sidi Yahya El Gharb, Zagora, Youssoufia, and Marrakech. These appointments, approved by DGSN Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, involve twelve strategic posts, with eight district police chiefs appointed in cities such as Oujda, Laâyoune, Sidi Yahya, and Marrakech.
Additionally, positions have been assigned to specific roles, including a traffic accident service chief in Salé and an urban brigade chief in Youssoufia. Other police officers will now lead decentralized services, such as the head of general intelligence in Casablanca and the interim chief of the Zagora airport police station.
These appointments align with a broader strategy to bring renewed energy to Morocco’s security services, emphasizing professionalism, integrity, and experience among the new generation of security leaders. The DGSN aims to enhance citizens' sense of security, improve police services, and foster greater institutional communication and engagement with the community.
