Xi Jinping Reaffirms Strategic Partnership Between China and Morocco
During a brief visit to Morocco on Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between China and Morocco. He emphasized China's willingness to collaborate with the North African nation to support each other on issues of mutual interest and promote greater development in their bilateral relations.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
President Xi highlighted the fruitful progress in the relationship between China and Morocco, characterized by practical cooperation and dynamic exchanges in various fields. He expressed China's readiness to work with Morocco to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum.
The Chinese president noted that both nations could enhance their partnership by achieving tangible results in areas of shared interest. He also pledged China's support for Morocco’s efforts to maintain national security and stability.
Expanding Cultural and Interpersonal Exchanges
President Xi called for expanding cultural and interpersonal exchanges to deepen the bond between the two countries. He stressed the importance of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration, which are crucial to sustaining the strategic relationship.
High-Level Delegation
Accompanying President Xi on his visit was a high-ranking delegation that included Cai Qi, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and General Director of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC); Wang Yi, a Politburo member and Director of the CPC Central Committee’s Foreign Affairs Office; and Hua Chunying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The visit underscores the growing importance of China-Morocco ties and sets the stage for deeper cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains in the years to come.
