Trump Predicts Massive Pentagon Fraud Without Evidence
The U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that billionaire Elon Musk would uncover "billions" of dollars in fraud within the Pentagon. In an interview before the Super Bowl, Trump suggested that Musk's ongoing efforts to dismantle federal agencies could extend to military spending, uncovering widespread financial misuse.
Musk’s so-called "government efficiency department" has recently targeted various federal agencies, cutting programs and attempting structural changes. Last week, Trump and Musk sought to place thousands of USAID employees on leave, but a court temporarily blocked the move. Without offering proof, Trump alleged massive fraud within USAID, calling it a “big scam.”
During the same interview, Trump revived his controversial idea of Canada becoming the 51st U.S. state, arguing that financial losses with Canada justify such a move.
Trump’s Super Bowl appearance marked the first time a sitting president attended the event. While presidential interviews during the Super Bowl are customary, Biden declined in 2024, reportedly to avoid political fatigue among voters. Trump’s interview, hosted by a major media outlet, was expected to be less confrontational than those conducted by more neutral networks.
The president, a New York native now residing in Florida, did not reveal which team he supported in the game.
