Morocco and the U.S. deepen strategic ties through high-level talks in Rabat
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, welcomed a U.S. Congressional delegation on Saturday in Rabat, led by Representative Ronny Jackson, a member of both the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The meeting, held over a working lunch, provided a platform for open and constructive discussions focused on shared strategic priorities. Key topics included regional security challenges in the Sahel, stability across the Atlantic space, and prospects for enhanced bilateral cooperation in security and connectivity.
Representative Jackson praised Morocco’s leadership and reliability as a regional actor and key partner in promoting continental stability. He underscored the Kingdom’s pivotal role in advancing peace and security in Africa and across the Atlantic corridor.
Both parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepening the Moroccan-American partnership through a joint vision based on collective security and long-term cooperation. Talbi Alami emphasized the importance of maintaining regular dialogue, particularly at the parliamentary level, to strengthen strategic understanding and build enduring institutional ties.
This meeting further consolidates the long-standing alliance between Morocco and the United States and reflects the shared will to broaden cooperation beyond defense, including economic development, technological innovation, and energy transition.
