Fire contained at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport: No casualties reported
The National Airports Authority (ONDA) has successfully extinguished a fire that broke out in the cargo area of Royal Air Maroc at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca on the evening of March 27.
According to an official statement released on March 28, the fire started around 7:30 p.m. Immediate action was taken by airport firefighters, who swiftly coordinated with relevant personnel to manage the situation.
Firefighting trucks from the airport's emergency services, along with units from civil protection and the Royal Gendarmerie, were deployed to the incident site. Their prompt response ensured that the fire was fully under control by 9:00 p.m.
Fortunately, no human casualties were reported. However, ONDA noted material damages from the incident, and an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
