Gulf Cooperation Council reinforces support for Morocco's sovereignty over Sahara

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), under the leadership of Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi, has reaffirmed its steadfast decisions and positions regarding the Moroccan sovereignty over Sahara. This declaration emphasizes the GCC’s commitment to the stability of Morocco and the integrity of its territorial claims.

During a joint ministerial meeting between GCC states and Morocco, where Morocco was represented by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Al-Budaiwi praised United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2756. This resolution, adopted on October 31, 2024, underscores international acknowledgment of Morocco's claims over the contested region.

The GCC's position is pivotal in the ongoing discussions surrounding Sahara, as it underscores the regional bloc's alignment with Morocco. This support not only highlights the GCC's diplomatic strategy but also reinforces Morocco's standing on the international stage.

In conclusion, the GCC’s reaffirmation of Morocco's territorial integrity reflects a significant diplomatic stance that could influence future negotiations and regional stability.
