Morocco's BCIJ Dismantles ISIS-Linked Terror Cell, Foiling Sinister Plot

In a resolute strike against the forces of terror, Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), under the aegis of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), has successfully dismantled a terrorist cell composed of five ardent supporters of the Islamic State (ISIS) organization. The operation thwarted the cell's nefarious plans to launch devastating terrorist attacks aimed at gravely undermining public order.

The suspects, ranging in age from 22 to 46, were apprehended in a meticulously coordinated operation by the elite forces of the DGST in the cities of Casablanca, Tangier, Tetouan, Martil, and the rural commune of Ounagha in the Essaouira province. The BCIJ's communiqué revealed that the intricate details of the cell's terrorist plots came to light through extensive investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts by the DGST.

Initial findings from the inquiry unveiled the chilling reality that the suspects had pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed "caliphate" of ISIS and expressed their intent to execute terrorist projects targeting vital installations and security institutions. Alarmingly, they had also embraced campaigns inciting violence, according to the same source.

Further investigations uncovered the cell's sinister plans, as one of its members, possessing expertise in electronics, had devised a blueprint for the fabrication of explosive devices, the communiqué stated.

The members of this terrorist cell have been placed under custodial arrest as the BCIJ, under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office dedicated to terrorism cases, conducts a comprehensive judicial inquiry. The investigation aims to unravel the full extent of the cell's links, identify its destructive plans and projects, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

As Morocco remains steadfast in its unwavering commitment to combating extremism and safeguarding national security, this successful operation serves as a poignant reminder of the ever-present threat posed by terrorist organizations. The dismantling of this ISIS-linked cell underscores the nation's resolute determination to thwart any attempts to disrupt public order and uphold the principles of peace and stability.
